Featherlight Archives started as an idea by our creative director, Meredith. Her recent writing projects have been centered around creating stories for TTRPGs. Featherlight Archives emerged as a place that heroes could visit to search for answers and gain help on their journey. The featherlight is a magical artifact, a glowing feather held in a lantern to provide light and guidance to those searching for answers in the archives.

Why the name Featherlight Archives?
A feather can be a symbol for many things, freedom, inspiration, a connection to the divine. Throughout world cultures there are stories that feature birds as messengers, guides, spirits, companions to the gods, and powerful magical entities in their own right.
The light serves as a beacon in the dark. We are able to find each other through the dark by sharing our light, a candle in the window, the welcoming glow of a hearth fire, a lighthouse guiding ships home.
Archives allow us to maintain and preserve our stories. A archive may conjure images of long shelves of dusty tomes, the crisp cornered metal of filing cabinets or the humming server racks.

The name Featherlight Archives is meant to encapsulate all of these things. It is a metaphysical place to find connection to ourselves, each other, nature, stories, and the magic in all things.

However you choose to support us, we hope you are able to find connection, creativity, and curiosity. There is always something to be discovered through your travels to Featherlight Archives.
